// For Indigenous job seekers

Jobs with employers who are recruiting Indigenous talent.

Every employer on hireDiverse posts here because they are actively recruiting across Canada's employment equity groups — including First Nations, Métis and Inuit candidates. Browse live roles below, free, with no account required.

// Four things that change your results

Employers here have committed to equitable hiring, but the application itself still has to do its job. These four moves consistently help Indigenous candidates get further, faster.

  1. 01

    Decide how you want to self-identify

    Self-identification is always voluntary. Some employers use it to route your application to a dedicated hiring stream or an Indigenous recruitment lead; others only use it for aggregate reporting. Read what the posting says it will be used for, and choose what is right for you — declining never disqualifies you.

  2. 02

    Name community and land-based experience as work

    Band administration, land stewardship, cultural programming, committee and council work, and language work are real professional experience. Put them in your work history with scope and outcomes, not in a hobbies line at the bottom.

  3. 03

    Ask about the support behind the posting

    Reasonable questions at interview: is there an Indigenous employee network, are cultural leave and ceremony time accommodated, who else on the team is Indigenous. Employers serious about retention will have answers ready.

  4. 04

    Look for the whole posting, not the label

    Some roles are Indigenous-designated; most are general roles at employers who want Indigenous applicants. Both are worth applying to. Focus on the work, the location and the terms rather than filtering only for designated postings.

// Common questions

Do I have to self-identify as Indigenous to apply?
No. Self-identification is voluntary on every posting. You can apply to any role on the board without disclosing your Indigenous identity, and employers cannot require it unless the position is a bona fide Indigenous-designated role.
Are these roles only in Indigenous organizations?
No. The board includes First Nations, Métis and Inuit organizations alongside employers in banking, health, transport, telecom, government and the non-profit sector who are actively recruiting Indigenous candidates.
Can I apply for roles outside my home community or territory?
Yes. Postings list their location and whether the role is remote, hybrid or on-site. Many employers on the board hire fully remote, and some list relocation support directly in the posting.
Does it cost anything to apply?
No. hireDiverse is always free for job seekers. There is no account required to browse, and no fee at any stage. Employers pay to post; you never pay to apply.
How often are new jobs added?
The board updates continuously as employers post. New listings appear on this page automatically, so it's worth checking back weekly or following the roles that match your field.
